Hiei-sama

Welcome to the section of Hiei-sama no Jinja about Hiei-sama's past. In this place I will attempt to inform you on Hiei-sama's past. Most of which was kept secret until the end of the series. If I have any mistakes, please correct me by e-mailing me.

As a fire demon born into a race of ice demons known as Koorime, he became known as the "Forbidden Child". These Koorime (literally meaning "ice women") inhabit a floating country, that somewhat resembles the floating things in the sky in Cefiro from Magic Knight Rayearth, called Hyouga no Kuni (Ice River Country) in the demon world of Makai. The Koorime only give birth once in there lives. They always give birth to twins. The Koorime usually shed one tear during this which turned into tear gems (hiruiseki), but Hina, Hiei's mother, shed two. According to the YYH Perfect Files, the males in this species of youkai bring destruction. Since they are all ice demons, what brings destruction to them must be a fire demon. So it was decided that Hiei be thrown off their icy country in the sky to plummet to the ground below and die. Hiei's sister, Yukina, was a Koorime, so they kept her. As they talked about Hiei and him being discarded, Hiei could understand every word, but was powerless to do anything since he was an infant. When the time came, Hina's friend Rui was told to do the "honor" of discarding baby Hiei off the cliff. (Well duh, Hina probably would've jumped off WITH her baby). Before letting him loose to fall the the ground below, Rui gave Hiei one of the hiruiseki and told him to become strong and return to kill them all.

After landing on the ground, he was found by some thieves who tried to take his hiruiseki, but he bit the lead bandit who tried to take it on the finger. (Note: KAWAII!!!! *giggles*) After that, the bandits raised him, but when he got older, they rejected him and he roamed around Makai fending for himself. In his wanderings, he came across many youkai and fought and killed them all. One time though, a youkai cornered him at a cliff, caused him to lose his balance, and chopped his hiruiseki on a string off from around his neck. Hiei started falling off the cliff due to his lost balance, but he jammed his sword into the rock and used it to catapult back up and stab the youkai. After that, he looked down at the river below which was carrying away his hiruiseki. To find his lost hiruiseki he went to see Shigure, a surgeon in Makai, to get a jagan implanted in his head. (Note: If you haven't seen this ep yet, be prepared for an awful scream from the fire demon.) Since he could not pay for the work that was done, Shigure made him promise not to ever tell his sister that he was her brother. Eventually, he found Hyouga no Kuni and would've destroyed the place if it wasn't for the fact that any anger he had for the Koorime had dissipated. While there he found out that his mother had died and that he had a sister who wandered off someplace with some birds. Hiei went after her and later met up with Kurama and Gouki.

Hiei, Kurama, and Gouki joined together to steal the three treasures of Reikai: Ankokukyo (mirror), Gaki-tama (jewel or ball), and Koma no Ken (sword). Gouki (the one with the Gaki-tama) is killed by Yusuke, Kurama (the one with the Ankokukyo) becomes friends with Yusuke and is captured, and Hiei is defeated by Yusuke who takes back all of the three treasures (in less than perfect condition); sending Hiei and Kurama to prison. Later on, Koenma has Hiei and Kurama help Yusuke out, so they become Reikai tantei too. The rest is pretty much history.

In episode 100, Mukuro gives Hiei back his hiruiseki, which she had found, after Hiei beat Shigure, the man who surgically implanted his jagan. In the episode before that though, Yukina had given Hiei her hiruiseki and told him to give it to her brother when he found him. Hiei wore that hiruiseki around his neck during his battle with Shigure. (Aww.... Isn't that sweet? In one picture, you can see Hiei with a hiruiseki earring and a hiruiseki necklace. ^^) Hiei was badly hurt though, so Mukuro stuck him in a rejuvination tank and STARED at him. Good thing he was covered (as much as he could be which wasn't much) by a bunch of criss-crossing vines or piping or whatever they are. (She was nice enough to let him wear both hiruiseki at least though). Presently, Hiei lives with Mukuro in Makai on her running blue bug thingamajigger as her right hand man and scout for Reikai to find any Ningen that should happen to wander into Makai by accident to hypnotize them, so they don't remember anything. (Koenma took down the barrier between Ningenkai and Makai). Unfortunately, one Ningen happened to still remember and when they got back, they reported that they've been abducted by an alien and give a description of Hiei. (In the manga, it was on the TV, but in the anime, it was published in a newspaper). Hiei still thinks of Kuwabara as the lowest form of life he's ever met and he still hasn't told Yukina that he's her brother. (The Perfect Files said something about a spirit, so maybe his spirit will disappear or something if he tells her). In a vid with the openings and endings of the TV series with little pieces of animation in between, Hiei tries to give the hiruiseki that Yukina had given him to give to her brother back, and saying that he couldn't find him, but Yukina told him to keep it and said it didn't really matter. Before this, Hiei tried to give the hiruiseki to Kurama, but Kurama gave it back. I think he said that Hiei should give it to someone special to him or something. Hiei then responded by saying, I think, "Who're YOU to say something so horrible?" or something like that.
