Nataku no Jinja ~ Nataku's Personality

On this page, I will describe Nat-kun's wonderful personality cuz, well, he's so damn cool! As usual I will cover anime & manga Nat-kun, and novel Nat-kun.
Now, the Nataku we all know and love is virtually unemotional except when he shows caring for his mother and for Tenka's younger brother, Tenshou. (In the anime, some for Inchao and Inhon. He seems to be sympathetic to those without a great living mother like his own.) He can have a temper if you like tease him or treat him badly or something like that, but for the most part, he is emotionless. His expression really shows it too. He hardly ever smiles except for rare occasions; not even in a crazy "I'm gonna kill you" kind of way. He'll have a yelling face, an emotionless face, a curious face, an adorable looking surprise kind of face, a fighting face, and so on, but hardly anything that truly shows any kind of real soft, caring emotion. The caring emotions he does feel though he expresses in mostly actions (sometimes with kind words, which can at times be a rare occassion), protecting those people he cares for, and so on without any consideration for his own well-being. So deep down, he's a real sweetie. (Now everyone say "Aww....").
Another part of anime and manga Nataku's personality that we just CAN'T forget is that he loves strength. He likes to be strong, and become stronger. He also likes strong opponents. (Probably the challenge of being able to beat them, and "practicing" with them so that he can become stronger). He's a real fighter type of guy who, as you can probably tell, loves to fight with a passion. In his mind, being a paopee ningen, he's a fighting machine of sorts, so fighting and protecting is pretty much probably all he thinks he's useful for. Of course, he could agree to do other things too, like play in a river or give someone a ride, if his mother or Tenshou or even maybe Inhon asked him to, but the most part, he's simply a fighter. This kind of lifestyle can be pretty lonely, but he seems to be okay with that. He likes being alone, and in his image song "Itsuka Dokoka de" he says that in his head, he's not lonely, which I think pretty much means that he thinks of his friends and stuff and that makes him feel that he isn't alone. So overall, it's probably best for all to leave him in his own solitude.
This isn't to say though, that if he liked you (and this is pretty much for the female Nataku fans out there), that he wouldn't want you around. It just means that he likes the peace and observing from rooftops and such. If he liked you, I'm sure he'd quite enjoy you watching it with him. Just don't disturb the peace too much and stuff like that. Rather romantic, too, isn't it? Personally, I think he probably uses his alone time to think and reflect about himself, things that went on, and other people. He can actually pretty deep in this way, but he doesn't really enjoy expressing his deep thoughts or feelings, or at least, not in words. If you just know and just enjoy the scenery with him, I'm sure he wouldn't mind a buddy hanging around while he did these things. Also, if you had a good idea 'bout what he might be thinking and stuff, he probably wouldn't mind you talking to him about it as long as you don't expect an answer back to everything you say. If you do do this though, I recommend no teasing, no joking, take him seriously, and try to look as sincere as you damn well can.
Lastly, it should be noted that Nataku doesn't really care for people mentioning his sweet and kind side unless of course you're his mother, Tenshou, or become someone he cares about just as much as those two, and especially if you're a guy. Taiitsu, Taikoubou, and others have received death glares from things like that, but when his mother says something, he just wonders if that's really true about himself. However, this doesn't mean that if you're female, you'll get easy treatment. Your treatment might be a LITTLE better, but not much. He's not all that kind or polite to Tensougyoku (reference to Senkai Taisen).
And then there's novel Nataku. He's REALLY different in there. Actually, everyone's a lot meaner in the novel. Anyway, novel Nataku can be pretty apathetic, but most of all, he has a great temper. He gets angry at any kind of insult, so best to treat him kindly and fairly. ^^;;; He also seems to love battle as well as the Nataku we love, but he's...much more...violent. In his own fashion, he can be sweet like when he took the dragon king's third son's tendon to make a belt for his father, but he's still really quite different than anime and manga Nataku. He can be impatient and graphically violent. When his mother did not respond to his plea to build him a temple after several talks with her, he actually yelled at her! The graphically violent part comes from when he killed himself to spare his family. It was a rather vivid description, I must say. This form of Nataku can also be somewhat of a leech as well. Whenever he was in trouble, he went to his master for help and his master would help him, and give him gifts and such to help him. However, Nataku would continue trying to use those gifts to try to kill his father and go back on his word when people told him not to pursue killing his father. He learned his lesson though, but it took a lot of physical suffering. ^^;;;
