More Houshin Engi
If the manga, anime, and novel aren't enough Houshin Engi goodness for you, then you would probably enjoy the news of a new Hong Kong TV series called "Feng Shen ____ Gods of Honor" by TVB International that's based on the original novel. (That blank means I can't remember the word for that one. I think it was "Bon"). I've only watched the first episode (rather different from the original novel in itself already), and it is pretty good. It's supposed to be one of the most popular shows in Hong Kong now and airs around the noon time. My grandmother has copies of the series, so I'll be watching more of it myself. In any case, I encourage you to watch it. The characters can be rather ugly (Youzen/Ehrlang and Raishinshi/Lei Kung in particular) when compared to the ones we know and love. I think Nataku's supposed to be the main character though. *shruggles* Best of all is that they don't use a girl to portray him! Whoo hoo~! In all their other shows, they have a girl portray him so that he looks 13-ish. Anyway, from what I could tell from the website, Nataku's in it as well as Youzen, Raishinshi, and Dakki.
To find out about "Gods of Honor", go to TVB's website (Beware! It's all in Chinese, but you can look around at the pics and see how many names and characters you can identify as they're the same).
Another thing is that I was in Chinatown not too long ago and they had for sale on VCD an entire series dedicated to Nataku/Nezha's life! I knew he was a very popular character from the novel, but I didn't know he was THAT popular.
In addition to these Chinese drama Houshin Engi goodness, there are also three games available for the PSX, several drama CDs, and extra vids with anime scenes being narrated by some of our favorite characters. More information on these will appear in the section for collectibles later on.
